3 slicebacon

1/2 lbground beef

1/2 lbground pork

1 can(s)14-16 oz can tomato sauce

2 can(s)10 oz cans diced tomatoes

1 can(s)6 oz can tomato paste

14 ozwater
-
1 can(s)16 oz can red beans

1 mediumonion
-
2 clovegarlic
-
1 Tbspsalt and pepper
-
1 Tbspred pepper
-
1 tsppaprika
-
2 Tbspchili powder
-
3 dash(es)red pepper flakes

2 smallbay leaves
How to Make Dave’s Chili
- Cook the 3 slices of bacon, then remove and hold aside for latter.
- In the bacon grease brown the ground meat and pork on high.
- Lower the heat and add diced onion and garlic glove, let the onions sweat a few minuets
- then add the diced tomatoes, sauce, paste, water and season to taste. simmer 2-3 hours (3-6 hours would be better and serve the next day.)
- After the first hour add the beans (optional) and skim grease if needed,
- Crumble bacon and add to chili, if you have not eaten it yet, before serving.
