Dad's Green Beans

3-4 lbfresh, frozen or canned green beans (not french style)
1 mediumyellow cooking onion
1 cchopped salt pork, bacon or ham pieces
1 lbbaby red potatoes or quartered med. red potatoes
1 Tbspcooking oil or bacon grease
1 tsplawry's seasoning salt
1 tspblack pepper
How to Make Dad's Green Beans
- sauté onions, oil, and meat for 3-4 minutes then add the remaining ingredients and combine together.
- cover and bring to the point of steam escaping over medium heat. Turn heat to simmer for 20 minutes. During this time do not peek.
NOTE: This method is only one type you can use. You can also just cook it all together over medium heat with no lid. I use waterless cookware and this method is the easiest for that style. You do not need to add any liquid in either method of cooking.
