creamy pork & rice skillet

I've been making this tasty dish for years now and still love it. There are many ways to change it. Sometimes I use white rice, other times brown rice. Another option is noodles. Feel free to experiment--you can't go wrong!

Ingredients

  • 4 - pork chops, boneless or bone-in (i used two chops)
  • 1 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 tablespoons cooking oil
  • 1 can cream of celery soup
  • 2 packages boil-in-bag rice
  • 1 can milk (in soup can)
  • 1 can water (in soup can)

How To Make creamy pork & rice skillet

  • Step 1
    Place pork chops on flat surface. Add salt and pepper, then coat chops on all sides with flour.
  • Step 2
    In a large skillet, brown chops well on both sides in oil, turning occasionally. When browned, pour off grease. Cover and cook over medium-low heat for 1 hour.
  • Step 3
    In a small bowl, mix together soup and milk.
  • Step 4
    Pour soup mix over chops in skillet; add rice. Add one soup can water. Cover and cook for about 20 minutes, or until rice is done.
