chops with mushroom gravy

I can't take credit for this one. it came from Taste of Home mag, and the lady that submitted it was Loraine Van Broeck. This is my new fav way to do chops, and GW, my sweetie LOVES them because of the gravy it makes.

Ingredients

  • 1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1 to 2 teaspoons paprika
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 6 to 8 medium pork loin chops, or fewer chops if you like
  • 1 medium onion, chopped
  • 1/2 cup green pepper, chopped
  • 4 ounces can mushrooms, stems and pieces
  • 2 cups milk
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 1/4 cup butter

How To Make chops with mushroom gravy

  • Step 1
    In a large zip lock bag, put flour, salt, pepper, and paprika. Add pork chops, one at a time and shake to coat.
  • Step 2
    Set bag of flour and seasonings aside to thicken gravy.
  • Step 3
    In a large skillet, brown chops in butter until browned, trasnfer to a 9x13 pan.
  • Step 4
    In the same skillet saute the onion, green pepper and mushrooms until tender.
  • Step 5
    Stir in reserved flour, gradually add milk until blended.
  • Step 6
    Bring to a oil, stirring constantly until thickened, it will take just a minute.
  • Step 7
    Remove from heat, stir in lemon juice, pour over chops.
  • Step 8
    Cover and bake at 350 degrees 50 to 60 minutes until meat is no longer pink.
  • Step 9
    Serve with mashed potatoes or buttered noodles
