Ingredients
- 4 - pork chops, boneless
- 4 tablespoons olive oil, extra virgin
- 2 cups rice
- 2 tablespoons onion flakes, dehydrated, or fresh onion or green onion
- - salt and pepper
- Dash - garlic powder
- 4 1/4 cups water
- 1/2 cup mushrooms optional, fresh or canned
How To Make chops and rice
-
Step 1In a large pot, add 2tbsp olive oil and heat on med-high to braise the pork chops. Once the oil is hot, place pork chop in and brown each side till golden brown and crispy. Be careful, the oil can pop at this point. You do not cook the pork chop all the way thru, the insides will still be raw.
-
Step 2Remove pork chops. In the same pot, add another 2tbsp of olive oil and then add 2 cups of rice. You can either add the water immediately or you can brown the rice if desired. I tend to brown the rice for about 3 minutes before adding the water.
-
Step 3After adding the water. Add all the other ingredents, give the rice a quick stir and place the pork chops in top of the rice. Cook over low heat until rice is fully cooked. Enjoy!!!!
