When you just can't get to the smoker for good pork, this recipe is great. It is tasty and flavorful, and really easy. By using alcohol, you eliminate the need to brine the pork, saving loads of time

Ingredients
- 4-6 pounds pork shoulder or pork butt
- 4 cloves garlic, smashed
- 1 bottle hard cider, i use woodchuck
- 2 ounces dark spiced rum
- 3 cups organic chicken broth
- 2 teaspoons chile powder
- 1 teaspoon ground cumin
- 1 - salt and pepper
- 3 tablespoons light brown sugar
How To Make captain's slow trip pork

Step 1combine all ingredients, except the pork, in slow cooker and mix well

Step 2place the pork in the cooker

Step 3set cooker on low and cook for 6-8 hours.

Step 4when done, it should almost fall apart. Take the pork out of the cooker and shred it in a separate bowl. If there are any larger pieces of fat, you can get rid of them or mix them back in with the pork. put the pork back in the cooker to soak up the juices, serve warm. Enjoy!
