browned rice & pork casserole

I have made this recipe for many years. My children always looked forward to supper when I made this dish.

Ingredients

  • 4 medium pork chops, boneless
  • - seasoned salt
  • 1/2 cup uncooked minute brown rice
  • 1 jar beef gravy, 10 3/4 ounce
  • 1/4 cup water
  • 2 medium onions,cut in slices
  • 10 small carrots, 1 inch slices

How To Make browned rice & pork casserole

  • Step 1
    Sprinkle pork chops with Seasoned Salt. Heat pork chops in skillet. Lightly brown on both sides.
  • Step 2
    Spray a 2 quart casserole dish, lightly with cooking spray. Remove chops to casserole dish.
  • Step 3
    Add rice to drippings in skillet. Sometimes a little more olive or canola oil is needed. Cook until rice is browned.
  • Step 4
    Stir in gravy and water. Arrange onions and carrots on top of pork chops. Pour on Gravy.
  • Step 5
    Bake 1 hour or until pork chops are done and veggies are tender. Cover dish with lid or foil while in the oven. This lets everything bake evenly.
  • Step 6
    Oven temperature - 350º
