My family loves Bratwurst and potluck potato casserole during summer picnics and get togethers. I combined two family favorites into this hearty rib sticking cold weather casserole.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound bratwurts
  • 2 pounds o'brien hash brown potatoes, frozen
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 can condensed cheese soup
  • 1/2 cup onion, chopped
  • 8 ounces sour cream
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, grated
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon celery seed, ground
  • 1 - sleeves ritz crackers, crushed with 1/4 cup melted butter

How To Make it's brat to me casserole

  • Step 1
    Remove bratwurst from casing and brown draining fat.
  • Step 2
    Preheat oven to 350 degrees with oven rack placed in the center of the oven.
  • Step 3
    Defrost potatoes. Combine in large mixing bowl with 1/2 cup melted butter, and seasoning.Add onion, soup, sour cream, cheese, garlic & spices and bratwurst. Blend thoroughly. Pour into buttered casserole. Cover with crumbs. Bake 45 minutes.
