Maga's Best Rubbed Ribs

Julie Madawi

I am a big Alton Brown fan, and many years ago I took his suggestion to heart to make his rib recipe my own by changing up the ingredients to his spice rub and braising liquid recipe. My version has become a family favorite, and is often requested for birthday celebrations.

We like to use a little passion fruit juice in the braising liquid to give these ribs a tropical flavor; or you can use all apple cider if you like.

UPDATE: I doubled the spice rub and baked four racks of ribs, splitting the braising liquid between the two bags. They were DELICIOUS!!
