This recipes is one of my Mother-In-Law's which she handed down to me. It's great as sandwiches or use the BBQ sauce on Ribs. YUM!

Ingredients

  • 1 c
    ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp
    vinegar
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    worcestershire sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    brown sugar, rounded
  • 6-8
    whole allspice
  • 2 small
    bay leaves
  • 6
    whole cloves
  • 1 small
    onion, diced
  • 1 c
    pickle relish
  • ·
    water, as needed

How to Make BBQ Sandwiches

Step-by-Step

  1. Combine first 5 ingredients. Tie Allspice, Cloves, and Bay Leaves into cheese cloth, add to bbq mixture, add remaining ingredients. Cook on low heat until onions are cooked through.

    Add your choice of shredded roast beef, pork roast, or ground chuck. Heat through. Remove spice bag prior to serving on sandwich buns.
