asian spaghetti and meatballs

This was an accidental recipe. I was trying to make pork wontons, and my wonton wrappers broke. So, to avoid take-out, I searched the pantry and came up with this recipe. Enjoy!

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 1/3 tablespoons asian seasoning blend (eg. pampered chef asian seasoning mix)
  • 1 teaspoon ground ginger
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 cup soy sauce, low sodium
  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1/2 cup edamame, steamed and cooled
  • 1/2 pound spaghetti, or other thin pasta

How To Make asian spaghetti and meatballs

  • Step 1
    Mix together pork, ginger, garlic, and one tablespoon of asian seasoning mix. Roll into one inch meatballs. Add to skillet and cook over medium-high heat until pork is 3/4 cooked through.
  • Step 2
    Add soy sauce, water, and remaining asian seasoning to skillet. Toss with meatballs and continue cooking until pork is cooked through. Reduce heat and let simmer.
  • Step 3
    Meanwhile, cook pasta according to package instructions. Drain and return to hot pot until water evaporates completely. Spoon meatballs over pasta, pour sauce over top. Toss to coat over low heat; toss in sesame seeds.
  • Step 4
    When serving, toss cooled edamame into individual servings.
