Ingredients

  • PLAN/PURCHASE

  • 1 large
    boneless pork tenderloin, about 1-inch (2.5cm) thick
  • 1/2 c
    flour, all-purpose variety
  • 1 large
    egg
  • 2 tsp
    sesame oil, divided
  • 1/2 c
    panko breadcrumbs
  • ·
    salt, kosher variety, to taste
  • ·
    white pepper, freshly ground, to taste

How to Make Asian Essentials: Japanese Breaded Pork

Step-by-Step

  1. PREP/PREPARE
  2. Chef’s Note: A must have for this recipe is some Japanese BBQ sauce, and here is a recipe for you:

  3. Gather your Ingredients (mise en place).
  4. Add some salt and pepper to the flour, and place into a shallow dish.
  5. Whisk the egg, and sesame oil with a bit of water, and place into another shallow dish.
  6. Place the panko breadcrumbs into a third shallow dish, and mix with the additional teaspoon of sesame oil.
  7. Cut the boneless pork tenderloin in half lengthwise.
  8. Dip the pork into the flour, and thoroughly coat.
  9. Shake off the excess flour, and then dip into the egg mixture.
  10. Add to the panko, and thoroughly coat.
  11. Add the pork to the basket of your air fryer.
  12. Set the temp to 375f (190c), and cook until golden brown, about 6 – 8 minutes.
  13. Turn the pork over, and cook for an addition 4 – 5 minutes.
  14. PLATE/PRESENT
  15. Serve while nice and warm with your favorite sides. Enjoy.
  16. Keep the faith, and keep cooking.
