This is the closest to Stouffer's Mac & Cheese that I've found. I love their mac and cheese!

Ingredients

  • 8 ounces elbow macaroni, cooked
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1/4 teaspoon white pepper
  • 1 can evaporated milk
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons margarine or butter
  • 2 cups sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

How To Make traditional macaroni & cheese

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Grease 2 quart casserole dish or 11x9 inch pan.
  • Step 2
    Add cornstarch, slat, mustard and pepper in a medium saucepan. Stir in evaporated milk, water and margarine. Cook over medium-high heat, until sauce comes to a boil. Boil for 1 minute. Remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    Stir in 1 1/2 cups cheese until melted. Add macaroni; mix well. Pour into casserole dish, top with remaining cheese and bake 20-25 minutes until light brown on top.
