the best way to cook pasta!
I discovered this method of cooking pasta several years ago, and have used it ever since. It never fails to produce perfect al dente pasta, and works with every shape and size that I have tried. It is easy and requires no pot watching or 'testing' for doneness. Also, it can 'sit' indefinitely with no sogginess or further cooking! *I 'boil' (hard cook) my eggs this way, too!

How To Make the best way to cook pasta!
-
Step 1Put water in a pot with a lid; salt water. I don't really measure my water, I just put the amount that I think will cover my pasta by an inch or two. Doesn't have to be exact. Bring water to a rolling boil.
-
Step 2Pour your pasta of choice into the boiling water. Stir, and bring back to a boil. Let boil about 30 seconds, then cover pot with lid and remove from burner. Do not lift lid for 15 to 20 minutes; by then the pasta should be done al dente. It will not cook further than this because the water has cooled down. Pasta can be held in pot until ready to serve. Drain, if needed.
-
Step 3* To hard cook eggs: Place eggs in pot with lid; cover with water an inch or two above eggs. Bring to a boil; immediately cover with lid and remove from burner. Eggs will be perfectly done in 10 to 15 minutes.
