Ingredients

  • 1 pound spaghetti, whole-wheat
  • 6 slices bacon
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 2 large egg
  • 2 large egg white
  • 2/3 cup parmesan, grated
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • ½ teaspoon black pepper, freshly ground

How To Make spaghetti carbonara

  • Step 1
    Cook spaghetti using package directions. Drain and keep warm.
  • Step 2
    Cut bacon slices into 1 inch pieces. Cook in a large skillet over medium heat until crisp.
  • Step 3
    Add garlic and cook stirring continuously, until fragrant, 30 seconds.
  • Step 4
    Whisk egg and egg white in small bowl.
  • Step 5
    Add spaghetti to skillet; toss to combine.
  • Step 6
    Remove skillet from heat. Immediately add eggs, Parmesan, salt and pepper; toss to coat. Serve at once.
