This is a recipe from when I was growing up. It is a great comfort food, and reminds me of my mother's cooking so much! It is very flavorful and easy to make.

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground beef (or turkey or chicken)
  • 1 can (6 oz.) tomato paste
  • 18 ounces tomato juice
  • 3 cups water
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons chili powder
  • 1 teaspoon garlic salt
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 tablespoons minced onion
  • 1 package spaghetti--7 ounces

How To Make skillet spaghetti

  • Step 1
    Brown ground beef in skillet. Drain. Add tomato paste, tomato juice, water, chili powder, garlic salt, salt, sugar, and onion and stir to combine. Cover and simmer 30 minutes, stirring occasionally Add spaghetti (can break in half if you wish). Stir to combine. Cover and simmer, stirring frequently, 30 minutes or until spaghetti is tender.
