My girls love this. I make it with leftover steamed shrimp.

Blue Ribbon Recipe

Adding shrimp to a simple pasta salad is a great way to add protein and create a one-dish meal. Using beer and Old Bay seasoning, the shrimp are steamed to perfection and have a nice flavor. Onion and celery add a nice crunch to this simple salad. You could add anything you typically like in a pasta salad like relish, boiled eggs, or any other veggie if you want to bulk it up even more. This shrimp pasta salad will be a cool and creamy meal when the weather is warmer.

How To Make shrimp pasta salad

Test Kitchen Tips
We started with 1 Tbsp of seasoning and felt that was plenty. We recommend adding a little at a time when mixing until it suits your taste buds. Also, we used small pre-peeled shrimp for a time-saver and didn't cut them in half.
  • Steaming shrimp in beer and Old Bay seasoning.
    1
Steam shrimp. If you have a rice steamer, great. If you have an insert for a pan, that will work. Put the beer in a pot in place of water along with Old Bay seasoning.
  • Basket with shrimp added to saucepan and a lid placed on top to steam.
    2
Add the steamer basket and fill it with shrimp. Cut up some onions and add. Cover with a lid. Place the pot on the stovetop. Cook shrimp until pink (should be about 8 to 10 minutes on medium).
  • Shrimp after they've steamed.
    3
When done, peel the shrimp and cut them into two.
  • Shrimp, pasta, and remaining ingredients added to a bowl.
    4
Now for the salad, add shrimp to cooled cooked pasta and the remaining ingredients.
  • Mixed ingredients ready to refrigerate.
    5
Mix well and cool in the fridge.
