This is so easy and cooks as fast as the pasta, I make this when I don't have time to make the "good sauce". It is so versatile I make this in so many ways, I add vodka and/or cream for a quick vodka/pink sauce, add basil, parsley, or red wine, make it your own.

    olive oil, extra virgin
  • 1
    onion or if your in a hurry use the dried onion
  • 3 clove
  • 1 can(s)
    crushed tomatoes
  • 2 Tbsp
    italian seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    salt and pepper
  • 1 tsp

How to Make Quick and Easy Basic Tomato Sauce


  1. Heat a 2 quart Pot, add the Olive Oil, put the onion in the food processor until you like the texture, my family does not like chunks of onion so I make sure they are processed, add onions to the pot, stir unti translucent
  2. Add the garlic stir for a few seconds, add the can of tomatoes, stir
  3. Once it comes to a boil add the remaining ingredients, stir and simmer for about 30 mins or until the thickness you like, or if in a big hurry add some tomato paste
