pumpkin pasta sauce
I came up with this recipe looking for a way to use my canned pumpkin to create this spicy but savory sauce with a seasonal twist!

Ingredients
- 2 tablespoons olive or grapeseed oil
- 3 tablespoons minced garlic
- 1 medium onion
- 1 can pumpkin, canned or cooked
- 1 can minced clams with juice
- 1 1/2 teaspoons salt (or to taste)
- 1 1/2 teaspoons shallot-pepper seasoning
- 1 teaspoon dried sage
- 1 teaspoon thyme, dried
- 1 dash cayenne pepper ( to taste)
How To Make pumpkin pasta sauce

Step 1Add Oil to saucepan, and heat. Add onion and garlic and cook till tender.

Step 2Add minced clams and juice to pot. Let simmer 5 minutes.

Step 3Stir in pumpkin, spices and salt. Simmer for 10-15 minutes till liquid reduces slightly. For a smooth sauce, blend in a pot with hand blender until desired consistency is achieved.
