I made this for supper one night and my grandson enjoyed it. Whenever he comes over now he requests me to cook this for him. He's a picky eater so I am happy to make something that he likes.

Nana's beef tips with noodles are a hearty and comforting meal. After simmering, the stew meat is extremely tender. It's smothered in a rich and savory homemade brown gravy. We served it over noodles following the recipe and this was a tasty meal. But, mashed potatoes would be a delicious option too.

Ingredients

  • STEW MEAT
  • 1 1/2 - 2 pounds stew meat
  • 1 - 2 teaspoons Lawry's seasoning salt
  • 1/4 - 1/3 cup all-purpose flour
  • 3 - 4 tablespoons olive oil
  • 2 1/2 - 3 cups water, reserve broth after simmering
  • FOR SERVING
  • 1 package extra wide egg noodles
  • BEEF GRAVY
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 - 1/4 teaspoon Lawry's seasoning salt, to taste
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 2 1/2 - 3 cups reserved beef broth from cooked stew meat
  • 1 can beef broth (14.5 oz)
  • 1/8 teaspoon paprika

How To Make nana's beef tips with noodles

  • Sprinkle stew meat with seasoning salt.

  • Brown stew meat.

  • Add water to a saucepan and bring to a boil.

    Add 2 1/2 - 3 cups of water and bring to a boil. Boil on medium/high heat until the meat is tender (about 1 hr 15 min - 1 hr 30 min). Add water as needed.
  • Cover and let stand.

  • Melt butter in the saucepan the meat was cooked in.

    Remove stew meat and broth and place in a bowl. For the gravy, in the saucepan the meat was cooked in, melt butter.
  • Add flour to the butter.

  • Stir until flour is browned.

    Stir for about 2-3 minutes until browned. Add season salt and black pepper.
  • Add stew meat and broth.

  • Simmer until thickened.

  • Stir in paprika.
