I love making this lasagna , it has 6 different cheeses in the layers , sometimes I will even add a layer of pepperoni too.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb
    lean hamburger ; cooked & drained
  • 1 large
    onion ; diced
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried basil
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried parsley
  • 1 Tbsp
    dried oregano
  • ·
    salt and pepper
  • 3 (6oz) can(s)
    tomato paste
  • 1 1/2 can(s)
    water
  • 14 1/2 oz
    diced tomatoes
  • 2 1/4 oz
    black olives ; sliced
  • 8
    lasagna noodles
  • 24 oz
    cottage cheese, small curd
  • 2 c
    shredded cheese blend (monterey jack, cheddar,queso quesadilla & asadero cheese)
  • 1 lb
    mozzarella cheese

How to Make My Beef Lasagna

Step-by-Step

  1. In a large frying pan cook the hamburger and onions until the hamburger is completely cooked and the onions are tender , lightly season with garlic powder and salt & pepper.
  2. To the cooked meat mixture add the spices, tomato paste , diced tomatoes , black olives and the cans of water and mix together.
  3. Simmer the sauce on medium low heat for 30 minutes.
  4. Meanwhile place your dry lasagna noodles in a 8x11" dish and pour BOILING HOT water over top of them to get them to soften up. ( This is an easy way to keep the noodles intact for assembly) Drain once they have softened. Takes about 20 minutes or so , it's alright if they are aldente')
  5. Prepare your mozzarella cheese into thin slices.
  6. Start the assembly of your lasagna with sauce mixture on the bottom of an 8x11" dish.
  7. Than take 4 of the softened lasagna noodles and layer on top of the sauce.
  8. Than layer 1/2 of the container of the cottage cheese on top noodles.
  9. Top the cottage cheese layer with the slices of mozzarella cheese.
  10. Repeat all the layering steps and top the final step with the blended cheese mixture.
  11. Bake in a preheated oven @ 350° for 45 minutes. Let sit and rest for atleast 10 minutes before you cut into the baked lasagna....enjoy!!
