macaroni burger

This is very tasty loose pasta burger. Yes pasta, and you don't have to put it in a hamburger bun; you can use hot dog buns or tortillas or tostada sandwich. My family enjoyed these. Great served without a bun too . Just plate and top with cheese and enjoy.

Ingredients

  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1 pound lean ground beef
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 tablespoon thick worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
  • 16 ounces jar pasta sauce
  • 1 pound macaroni, elbow
  • 15 ounces can pinto beans,undrained or kidney beans or black beans
  • 1/2 cup chicken broth
  • 1/2 cup corn from cooked cob of corn, optional
  • 1/4 cup sliced black olives
  • 1 teaspoon chili powder, optional
  • - shredded cheese as garnish
  • 1/2 to 1 pounds elbow macaroni, can be cooked or uncooked

How To Make macaroni burger

  • Step 1
    In a large Dutch oven or electric fry pan, heat pan to 200^ add vegetable oil and ground beef.Stir and scramble for 5 minutes; add onion, salt, pepper, chili powder and Worcestershire sauce and cook until meat is no longer pink and onions are translucent.
  • Step 2
    Add pasta sauce, beans with it's liquid, water, olives,and corn if using;add uncooked pasta. Stir to coat pasta with sauce. Cover and simmer for 15-20 minutes, or until pasta is al dente.
  • Step 3
    Serve on wheat bun;Butter bottom bun add macaroni mixture; top with some cheese,spread chipolte sauce on inside of top bum,(if desired) place on top of cheese. Enjoy!
