olive oil

extra-lean beaf stew meat
8 oz
packaged sliced mushrooms.
2 c
green bell pepper, diced
1 c
onion, diced
1/2 c
beef broth, reduced sodium
8 oz can, tomato sauce, no-salt added
1/4 tsp
14 oz can beef broth
1/4 c
2 Tbsp
12 oz
uncooked, no-yolk noodles
3 Tbsp
reduced-fat sour cream.

How to Make Low-calorie Hungarian stew


  • 1Place paprika in lg skillet, over med-high heat. Cook 2 min, stirring constantly. Remove from pan, set aside. Heat oil in same skillet. Add beef, cook until browned, stirring occasioanlly. Add mushrooms, bell pepper and onion. Saute for 4 min. Add toasted paprika, 1/2 cup broth, tomato sauce, and salt. Reduce heat to medium, and cook 6 min, stirring often. In bowl, combine 14 oz can beef broth, water and flour, whisking until smooth. Add flour mix to pan. Cover, cook 1 hr and 30 min or until slightly thickned. Stir occasionally. 15 min before stew is done, cook pasta as directed, drain. Stir sour cream into beef mix. Serve beef mix over hot noodles.
