This is still a work in progress everytime I make it I do something different to make it better. And use all fresh ingredents.

Ingredients

  • 1 package pepperoni
  • 1/2 pound ground beef (i prefer sirlion)
  • 1/2 pound pork sausage
  • 1 medium onion finely diced
  • 3 cloves garlic finely minced
  • 1 tablespoon whole basil
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 16 oz cans crushed tomatoes
  • 2 6 oz cans tomato paste
  • 10 ounces lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 1 1/2 cups riccotta cheese
  • 1 1/2 cups cottage cheese
  • 1/2 cup parmesan or ramano cheese
  • 2 tablespoons parsley
  • 2 - eggs, beaten
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pound mozzarella cheese

How To Make lasagna

  • Step 1
    In a skillet with a little EVOO fry pepperoni, then place on papertowl to drain, in same skillet brown and crumble ground beef and sausage, with onion and garlic, spoon off excess grease.
  • Step 2
    to meat mixture add basil, tomatoes, tomato paste and 1 1/2 teaspoons of salt (or to you liking, simmer uncovered for 30 minutes.
  • Step 3
    In a large bowl combine ricotta cheese, cottage cheese, parmesan cheese, parsley, eggs, salt and pepper, mix well.
  • Step 4
    Place 1/2 the noodles in a 13x9 baking dish, spread 1/2 the cheese mixture over noodles, then 1/2 the meat mixture, place in a single layer 1/2 the pepperoni, then 1/2 the mozzarella, repeat layers.
  • Step 5
    Bake at 375 degrees for 30 minutes, let stand 10 minutes.
