This a great weeknight meal that I've been making for years and my family just loves it. The sauce for this recipe is homemade and very easy to do. Just serve it with garlic toast and a salad and you have a fabulous dinner that's quick and easy, too. I've also made this recipe using ground turkey instead of ground beef and it's just as wonderful. Hope y'all enjoy!

  • 2 teaspoons minced garlic
  • 1 1/2 cups fresh mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 pound 80% lean ground beef or turkey
  • 1 can (14.5 ounce)stewed, diced tomatoes
  • 1 can (15 ounce) tomato sauce
  • 1 can (6 ounce)tomato paste
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon dried basil
  • 2 teaspoons oregano
  • 2 - packets splenda or other no calorie sweetener
  • 3-4 cups cooked seashell pasta
  • NOTE: YOU MAY ALSO USE THIS SAUCE WITH SPAGHETTI OR ANY OTHER PASTA THAT YOU PREFER.

How To Make incredibly easy & good goulash

  • Step 1
Brown ground beef, mushrooms, garlic, and onions in olive oil. Drain and blot with paper towel to remove as much grease as possible. Return drained ground beef mixture to pan. Add tomatoes, tomato paste, sauce, and spices and bring to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 10 to 15 minutes, stirring occasionally. If sauce seems too thick, you may add a little more tomato sauce.
  • Step 2
Cook seashell pasta according to package directions. 2 cups uncooked should yeild about 3 cups cooked.
  • Step 3
Add cooked pasta to sauce, mixing well. Sprinkle with grated parmesean cheese, if desired.
