Freshly made pasta is very easy to make. A few simple ingredients and a little time are the only requirements. Once you do it, you will do it again and again. The all purpose flour can be swapped for self-rising flour, but if you do this, omit the baking powder in the recipe.

Ingredients

  • 2-1/2 cup all purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1 tablespoon butter

How To Make homemade egg noodles

  • Step 1
In a large mixing bowl, stir together the flour, baking powder, and salt. Add the beaten eggs, milk and butter. Knead the dough until smooth, about 5 to 6 minutes.
  • Step 2
Let the dough rest in a covered bowl for 10 minutes.
  • Step 3
Sprinkle a small amount of flour onto a flat surface. Roll the dough out to 1/8 or 1/4 inch thickness using a floured rolling pin. (NOTE: It may be necessary to lightly sprinkle small amount of flour directly onto dough surface while rolling it out to keep it from sticking to the rolling pin.) Let air dry slightly. Using scissors or a pizza wheel cutter, cut the dough into the desired lengths. Shake out the strips and place on a towel to finish drying, about 2 hours.
  • Step 4
Cook the noodles in a large pot of lightly salted boiling water for 10 to 12 minutes or until al dente.
