I changed up a recipe I found in my inbox. So many recipes look promising but include several ingredients I don't care for. So I just subtract or substitute until I have something I like. This is one of them. Photo: dailydishrecipes.com

yield 4-6 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground chuck
  • 3 cups prego traditional pasta sauce
  • 1 box lasagna noodles, cooked
  • 1 small onion, chopped
  • 1 medium green pepper, chopped
  • 8 ounces sharp cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 8 ounces mozzarella cheese, shredded
  • 4 ounces pepper jack cheese w/a touch of philadelphia

How To Make cheesy beef & noodle casserole

  • Step 1
In a large skillet, brown the meat, with the onion and green pepper added the last five minutes; drain any fat, set aside.
  • Step 2
In a large pot of boiling water, cook lasagna noodles according to package directions. Drain.
  • Step 3
In a large bowl, add the sauce to the meat mixture and combine.
  • Step 4
Place half the meat into a greased or sprayed 9x13" baking dish. Layer one third of the cheeses on top (you may mix the cheeses together or layer them one by one), half the noodles on top of the cheese. Repeat with meat, cheese, and noodles. You should have one third of the cheese remaining to sprinkle on top of casserole.
  • Step 5
Cover with foil and bake in a preheated 400-degree oven for about 20-25 minutes or until bubbly.
  • Step 6
Remove from oven and let casserole sit for 10 minutes before serving.
