flour
3 lb
lean beef chuck, cut into cubes
3/4 c
white wine, medium
1/2 lb
bacon
1/2 c
cooking oil
1/4 c
tomato paste
1/4 tsp
thyme
3 clove
garlic minced
2 large
onion diced
6 sprig(s)
parsley
3 c
beer
1
bay leaf
7 medium
carrots cutup
salt and pepper, to taste..
hot cooked noodles

How to Make Bob's Daring Beer and Wine Stew..

Step-by-Step

  • 1In a hot dutch oven cook bacon with oil till almost crisp. Put flour in a bag, add meat and shake to coat meat.. Remove bacon from oven with slotted spoon, cut up bacon and set a side..

    Brown beef chuck in bacon drippings on all sides..
  • 2Now add garlic and onion cook 4-5 minutes.. Add beer, wine, bay leaf parsley, and thyme.. Partially cover and cook over med heat for 1 1/2 hours..
    Remove bay leaf and add carrots. You may need to add more beer, cook for about one hour more... Serve over cooked noodles..
