Ingredients
- 1 cup chicken broth
- 1 can diced tomatoes - undrained
- 1/4 cup flour
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3/4 pound polish sausage - cut into 1/2-in pieces
- 1 - medium onion - diced
- 1 - green bell pepper - diced
- 2 - ribs celery - chopped
- 1 - carrot - peeled and chopped
- 2 teaspoons dried oregano
- 2 teaspoons dried thyme
- 1/8 teaspoon ground red pepper
- 1 cup white rice
How To Make smoked sausage gumbo

Step 1sprinkle flour evenly over bottom of skillet. cook til flour begins to turn brown. reduce heat for 4 mins. stir in oil until smooth

Step 2chop celery and carrots dice onion and bell pepper cut sausage

Step 3combine broth and tomatoes in slow cooker add flour mixture to slow cooker

Step 4add sausage, onion, bell pepper, celery, carrot, oregano, thyme and ground red pepper to slow cooker

Step 5stir well, cover and cook on LOW for 4 1/2 - 5hrs

Step 6about 30 minutes before gumbo is ready, prepare rice. serve gumbo over rice for meal
