I learned this recipe from my mother 12 years ago and put my own spin on it. Perfect for winter and cold, rainy nights.

  • 2 lb
    ground beef
  • 4 can(s)
    mixed vegetables
  • 1 bottle
    vegetable juice
  • 1 bottle
    tomato juice
  • 1 pkg
    onion soup mix
  • 1 Tbsp
    salt and pepper
  • 2 Tbsp
  • 1 Tbsp
    szechuan five spice
  • 1 tsp
    crushed red pepper flakes

How to Make Semi-Homemade Vegetable soup


  1. In a large pot add your ground beef, seasonings, and garlic. Brown ground beef.
  2. After beef has browned, drain the grease. Place ground beef back into the pot.
  3. Add 1 46oz bottle or can of vegetable juice and tomato juice, onion soup mix, and vegetables into the pot.
  4. Stir all of the ingredients together and allow the soup to heat through.
