Add to Grocery List

green cabbage leaves, softened in boiling water

1/2 lb
ground chuck
1/2 lb
ground pork
1/4 c
onions, chopped
1/2 c
cooked rice
1 large
egg, well beaten
1 Tbsp
salt to taste
1 tsp
dried parsley
1/2 tsp
dried thyme

1 can(s)
tomato soup
1 can(s)
chicken stock or water
grated tart apple
1 Tbsp
hot pepper
salt to taste

How to Make Rusty's Stuffed Cabbage

  • 1Mix together all the filling ingredients.
  • 2Use about 1/3 cup mixture and shape into a small loaf that is not as wide as the cabbage leaves. Wrap up in a cabbage leaf, folding in the sides of the leaf to totally cover the filling as you roll it. Place it seam side down in a baking dish. Repeat until all leaves and filling are used.
  • 3Make sauce by combining all the ingredients and cooking for 10 minutes. Pour over the pan of cabbage rolls and bake at 350 degrees F until filling is done.
