When I was little, this was a favorite of mine. Little did I know that my mom made it to stretch a dollar!

prep time 10 Min
cook time 30 Min
method ---
yield 6-8 serving(s)

Ingredients

  • 1 package kielbasa; italian sausage; or ground beef
  • 1 large cabbage head (green or purple)
  • 1 can tomatoes, canned and cut up
  • 2 stalks celery
  • 6 medium potatoes
  • 1 medium onion

How To Make phlum

  • Step 1
Cut cabbage, celery and onions into slices. Cut kielbasa into bite size pieces. Peel and slice potatoes.
  • Step 2
In a large skillet, melt butter (about 1/4 cup) and saute celery and onion until transparent. Add potatoes and still occasionally until potatoes are soft. They should have a nice "crust" on them, but not burnt.
  • Step 3
Add cabbage and kielbasa and continue to cook on low heat, add another 1/4 butter. Cover and cook for approximately 15 minutes, or until cabbage is soft and transparent. Add tomatoes at the last and heat through. Serves 6-8.
