Ingredients For pattycake's shrimp gravy for shrimp and grits

  • 1 1/2 c
    small, peeled and deveined raw shrimp
  • 3 Tbsp
    chopped onion
  • 3 Tbsp
    chopped bell pepper
  • 4 Tbsp
    bacon grease
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp
    seafood seasoning
  • 1 tsp
    worcestershite sauce
  • 2 Tbsp
    ketchup
  • 2 Tbsp
    cornstarch

How To Make pattycake's shrimp gravy for shrimp and grits

    In skillet, fry onions and peppers in bacon grease. When onion is golden, add shirmp and stir around several times.

    Add about 3/4 cup of water. Simmer 2-3 minutes and thicken with the cornstarch and a little water made into a paste.

    Add seasonings, Worcestershite sauce and ketchup. Cook slowly til thickened. Serve over creamy grits.
