1heat 3 tablespoons water in a pot over medium heat. add onions, bell peppers and garlic and cook until the onions are translucent.
2stir in salt,pepper, brown sugar,coriander,cinnamon,cumin,cayenne,ginger,a tablespoon of water(so that the spices dont burn) and cook for 60 secs,stirring constantly.
add sweet potatoes and combine well.
3add the tomatoes,remaining water,frozen peas and chickpeas.
bring to boil,then simmer until the sweet potatoes are tender.
