Ingredients For moroccan lentils

  • 9 oz
    of lentils soaked in water for a few hours
  • 1 sm
    onion thinly sliced
  • 1 Tbsp
    finely chopped cilantro
  • 1 Tbsp
    finely chopped parsley
  • 2 Tbsp
    of olive oil
  • 1 Tbsp
    of tomato paste
  • 4 clove
    of garlic minced
  • 1/4 tsp
    turmeric powder
  • 1/2 tsp
    of cumin
  • 1 tsp
    salt
  • 1/4 tsp
    pepper

How To Make moroccan lentils

  • 1
    add the olive oil, onions ,tomato paste, garlic, and spices to your pan.

    Stir all the ingredients, cover your pan and cook for 5 minutes on medium heat.

    Drain the lentils from the water where they were soaking and add them to the pan. Mix all the ingredients well.

    Add water to your pan until the lentil mixture is covered. Cover your pan and let the lentils cook for 30 minutes on medium heat. Stir from time to time. Check on the water level and add more water if necessary. There should always be some sauce in the pan.

    After 30 minutes taste the sauce and adjust the salt and pepper and cimin accordingly.

    Add the chopper cilantro and parsley to the lentils. Stir well . Cover the pan and cook the lentils for another 10 minutes or until the lentils are done

    serving; Serv hot with bread . You can also add some hot sauce if you like spicy
