Because dogs can't eat onions, there are none in these - they're my dog Little Frankie's favorite treats to share with his family, :) Can also be cooked in a skillet drizzled w/oil...spice them up w/hot pepper flakes, jerk seasoning, Meditteranean salt mix - just try them first w/the walnut oil, it does make a diff.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups lentils, cooked
  • 1 cup portabello mushrooms, minced
  • 1 cup bulgur wheat, uncooked
  • 2 - garlic cloves, roasted and pureed
  • 1 cup bread crumbs, whole wheat
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons walnut oil
  • 1/4 teaspoon tarragon, fresh minced
  • pinch salt
  • pinch pepper

How To Make little frankie's veggie burgers

  • Step 1
    Prepare a wood or charcoal grill and let it burn down to embers.
  • Step 2
    In a large mixing bowl, mash lentils until smooth.
  • Step 3
    Add all other ingredients and mix until thoroughly combined; refrigerate for at least 2 hours.
  • Step 4
    Form into burgers; brush the burgers with olive oil and grill for 6 minutes on each side or until done.
  • Step 5
    Serve hot with your favorite condiments.
