We don't always do this,but I try to serve a vegetarian meal at least once or twice a week. This is one of my favorites,you won't miss the beef,this mushroom burger is very filling.

Ingredients

  • - 2 portobello mushrooms
  • - 3 cloves garlic,minced
  • - 1/4 c water
  • - 1 t. dijon mustard
  • - 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • - 1/2 t. thyme
  • - 3 tablespoon olive oil
  • - 1 t. worcestershire sauce
  • - salt and pepper to taste
  • - brie or jack cheese,sliced
  • - 2 hamburger buns or rolls
  • - mayonnaise
  • - lettuce leaves
  • - dijon mustard
  • - tomatoes
  • - red onion,thinly sliced
  • - avocado,sliced

How To Make grilled mushroom burger

  • Step 1
    Mix garlic, water, Dijon, vinegar, herbs, olive oil and Worcestershire sauce in small bowl. Place in a large resealable bag remove stems from mushroom caps add to marinade.Turn a few times to coat and allow to marinade for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Season with salt and pepper. Grill or broil the mushrooms on medium heat, turning often, until tender, about 5 minutes on each side. Baste with marinade to keep from drying out. Using tongs, transfer the mushrooms to a plate. Toast rolls on grill or under broiler. Place cheese on mushrooms. Serve on buns slathered in mustard and mayo. Top with lettuce,tomatoes,onion and avocado,if using. Serve with dill pickle spears.
