Ingredients

  • 8 large potatoes, cubed
  • 2 tablespoons chives, chopped
  • 1 1/2 cups celery, chopped
  • 1/3 cup parsley, fresh and chopped
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 teaspoon paprika
  • 1/4 teaspoon celery seed
  • 1 teaspoon savory
  • 1 cup milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 2 1/2 cups cheddar cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup real bacon bits (optional for garnish
  • 2 cloves garlic, crushed and chopped

How To Make crockpot potato-cheese soup

  • Step 1
    Add potatoes, chives, celery, parsley, onion, garlic, paprika, celery seed, savory and salt in your slow cooker and add water to cover. Cook on high for one hour. Turn heat to low and cook 4-5 hours or until potatoes are done. Combine milk and flour thoroughly. In a small saucepan, melt butter over medium heat. Add flour mixture slowly, and stir constantly 3-4 minutes. Add cheese; stir until melted. Turn crock-pot to high setting. Add cheese mixture to soup and cook until slightly thickened

    when serving the soup sprinkle (optional) bacon bits over top.
