Slow Cooker Crock Pot


  • 1 lb
    dry red kidney beans
  • 1 tsp
    bacon grease
  • 1 large
    onion, chopped
  • 3 stalk(s)
    celery, chopped
  • 6 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 2 tsp
    onion powder
  • 2 tsp
    garlic powder
  • 1 lb
    diced ham
  • 1 lb
    smoked sausage, sliced
  • 2-3 Tbsp
    creole seasoning (i use tony chachere's)
  • 3
    bay leaves
  • ·
    hot cooked white rice

How to Make Crock Pot Red Beans and Rice


  1. Soak beans overnight.
  2. Rinse beans and put in the crock pot and cover with water. Add all chopped celery and onion, garlic & onion powder, creole seasoning, bacon grease bay leaves. Turn slow cooker on high.
  3. Cook beans for 3-4 hours. Add smoked sausage and ham.
  4. Turn the heat to low and cook for another hour or so until beans are tender and liquid has thickened.
  5. Ladle red beans over hot cooked white rice.
