We call it butter meat because it melts like butter in your mouth! I have also added cream of mushroom soup for a variation. A friend added milk...she said it was awesome...so...roll with it how you like, but we LOVE it!!

Ingredients

1 lb
venison tenderloin
1 pkg
onion soup mix
4 medium
potatoes, cubed
2 can(s)
8oz tomato sauce
1 c
water
salt and pepper to taste
cooked rice (to pour "butter meat" over)

How to Make Butter Meat

Step-by-Step

  • 1Thaw deer tenderloin, rinse and put in crock pot.
  • 2Add onion soup mix, tomato sauce, water and stir.
  • 3Add potatoes, salt and pepper.
  • 4Place lid on crock pot,cook on low all day or high 4 hours or so.
  • 5Cook rice and spoon "Butter Meat" over rice. Serve with green salad and buttery biscuits.
