This one is baked, simple, frugal, and delicious.

Ingredients

  • 2 Tbsp
    oil
  • 1
    celery stalk, chopped
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 1 clove
    garlic, minced
  • 1 can(s)
    black beans, 15 oz, rinsed and drained
  • ·
    (or 1 1/2 cup or less cooked black beans)
  • 1 large
    egg, lightly beaten
  • 1 Tbsp
    cumin
  • 1/2 c
    almond meal
  • ·
    salt and pepper

How to Make BLACK BEAN BURGERS

Step-by-Step

  1. Grease a large, rimmed baking sheet. Preheat oven to 375
  2. Heat skillet over medium -high heat; add oil, celery and onion. Stir 5 minutes. Add garlic and saute 1 minute longer.
  3. Pour beans into a bowl and mash into a thick paste. Add celery mixture, egg, cumin and almond meal. Season with salt and pepper. Form into smallish burger patties; place on baking sheet and bake until firm and set, about 10 minutes on EACH side - do NOT turn until burger are set on the bottom and firming.
