Ingredients

  • 2 pounds shrimp, peeled and deveined, leave tails on
  • 1 small onions, vidalia, peeled and diced
  • 1 stick butter
  • 1 clove garlic
  • 1 pinch chili powder
  • 1 pinch black pepper
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 2 slices cheddar cheese, new york sharp
  • 1 cup grits, quick-cooking
  • 4 cups water
  • 1 pinch sea salt
  • 1 small green bell pepper,diced

How To Make baby doll's creamy shrimp and grits

  • Step 1
    Bring water to boil in medium sauce pan. Add a pinch of salt and 1/4 stick of butter. Pour grits in slowly stirring as you go. Cover and simmer till they are cooked via instructions on package.
  • Step 2
    In large frying pan, put rest of butter(3/4 stick) to melt. Then add chopped garlic, dices onions, diced green pepper, a little sea salt, a little chili powder and a pinch of pepper. Simmer till everything is soft and cooked. Add shrimp and continue to cook until you reach your desires doneness. Cover and remove from heat.
  • Step 3
    In the grit pan, break up the cheese slices and stir in until they have melted completely into grits. Add milk, a little at a time stirring till you reach a nice creamy consistency. Salt and pepper to taste.
  • Step 4
    Ok, now in medium size soup bowls fill half way with grits then cover with the Shrimp mixture. Serve and enjoy. If you like you can always add bacon or sausage to the shrimp mixture...I like my shrimp naked! Savor the flavor!
