This was an easy and popular dish when our kids were growing up. Served with picante sauce alongside a pot of beans it's always been well received by teenagers and adults alike. The amount of tortilla chips and cheese can be adjusted to individual tastes. We like a pretty thick layer of each!

salted corn tortilla chips
2 lb
lean hamburger
onion, chopped
2 clove
garlic, chopped
1 can
cream of mushroom soup (10 3/4 oz)
1 can
cream of chicken soup (10 3/4 oz)
1 can
mild enchilada sauce (10 oz)
1 can
chopped green chiles (4 oz)
1 cup
3 cups
cheddar cheese, grated

How to Make Tex Mex Taco Casserole


  • 1Line 9x13 baking pan with Doritos, pressing down to flatten slightly.
  • 2Brown hamburger in skillet along with onion and garlic. Mix in soups, sauce, chilies, and milk. Pour or spoon meat mixture over chips in dish. Cover with cheese.
  • 3Bake at 400 degrees for about 30 minutes, or until cheese browns slightly.
