super simple mexican pizza

Made up this recipe in highschool. I think what really makes it is the crust. It's the best pizza crust I've ever had. Mmmmm.

Ingredients

  • PIZZA DOUGH
  • 1 package dry active yeast, quick rise
  • 1 cup water, warm (about 110 degrees)
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 1/2 cups flour
  • TOPPING
  • 1 pound chorizo sausage
  • 1 can refried beans
  • 1 1/2 to 2 cups cheddar or colby jack cheese

How To Make super simple mexican pizza

  • Step 1
    Preheat oven to 350. Disolve yeast in water. Add sugar and salt.
  • Step 2
    Add other dough ingredients and stir until mixture forms a ball.
  • Step 3
    Turn upside down and pour enough veggie oil to coat ball of dough.
  • Step 4
    Let dough sit in bowl in a warm place, covered(paper towel, etc.) until doubled in size.
  • Step 5
    While waiting for dough to rise, brown chorizo. After chorizo is browned, add can of refried beans. Mix well.
  • Step 6
    Take risen dough and spread onto cookie sheet or large pizza pan.
  • Step 7
    Spread bean and chorizo mixture on top of dough. Then spread cheese on top of bean and chorizo mixture.
  • Step 8
    Place pizza in oven for 20-25 min. until crust is a light golden brown on the bottom.
