This is an old family fav, and I am sure I made it at least once a week at their request. It's rich and delicious.

Ingredients

1 large
can ortega whole green chiles
1 lb
monterey jack cheese grated
1 lb
cheddar cheese, grated
2
eggs beaten
1 small
can evaporated milk
1 1/2 Tbsp
flour
2 can(s)
tomato sauce

How to Make Chile Con Queso

Step-by-Step

  • 1Seed and devein chiles, tearing in strips. Layer cheeses and chiles in 1 1/2 qt casserole 3 times until all used.
  • 2Mix together well, beaten eggs, can milk, and flour. Pour mixture over layers and bake 45 min at 375 deg.
    15 min before done pour 2 cans tomato sauce over top.
  • 3Let sit for 5 min before serving.
