This is a savory beef, tomato and rice dish that we enjoy as an all in one dish.

Serve with a salad and a vegetable and you have a quick meal that is filling and delicious.

  • 1/4 c
    cooking oil
  • 1/2 large
    bell pepper, chopped
  • 3/4 c
    uncooked white rice
  • 2 can(s)
    (8 oz. each) tomato sauce
  • 1 large
    onion, minced
  • 1 lb
    ground beef (or ground turkey)
  • 1 1/2 tsp
    prepared mustard
  • 1 1/2 c
    hot water
  • 1
    salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Beefy Spanish Rice


  1. Heat oil in a large skillet. Add onion, bell pepper, and beef. Cook until groung beef is light brown.
  2. Stir in rice, tomato sauce, water and remaining ingredients. Mix well and bring to a boil.
  3. Cover and cook on low for 25 minutes or until rice is tender and the liquid is dissolved.
