Better Tasting Meatloaf

J. White Harris

I wanted to put together a better tasting meatloaf. I reviewed bunches of recipes and picked ingredients that I thought would work good together and produce a really good taste. After some testing I came up with this recipe and the results are outstanding. Give it a try, you won’t be disappointed.

How to Make Better Tasting Meatloaf

  • 1Preheat oven to 350°.
  • 2In a bowl, combine the eggs, milk, stuffing mix, chopped onion, chopped green pepper, garlic, salt, sage, and pepper. Add beef and pork; mix thoroughly.
  • 3In a small bowl, combine the ketchup, brown sugar, and Worcestershire sauce, stirring to dissolve sugar, remove 1/2 cup sauce to put on top of meatloaf. Mix the remaining sauce into meatloaf mixture.
  • 4Divide meat mixture in half and put into two lightly greased loaf pans. Add sauce to the top of each meatloaf.
Put a rack in the bottom of a 9 X 13 baking pan. Put the meatloaves on the rack, this will keep the meatloaves up out of the grease. Spread the sauce over the top of the meatloaves.
  • 5Bake 1 hour and 20 minutes or until a thermometer inserted into meatloaf reads 160°. Let stand 10 minutes. Serve and enjoy.
