When you want a taco salad, but want it to be as healthy as possible, this is it!

  • 1/2 c
    ready made salsa
  • 2 Tbsp
    light sour cream
  • 1/2 tsp
    canola oil
  • 1
    onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp
    minced garlic
  • 8 oz
    ground turkey breast
  • 1
    plum tomato, diced
  • 1/2 c
    black beans, drained
  • 1 tsp
    ground cumin
  • 1 tsp
    chili powder
  • 4 c
    shredded romaine lettuce
  • 1/2 c
    reduced-fat, shredded mexican style cheese

How to Make The best healthy taco salad


  1. In lg bowl, stir together salsa and sour cream, set aside. Heat oil in lg skillet over medium heat. Add onion and garlic, cook 2 mins.
  2. Add ground turkey, cook until browned. Add tomatoes, beans, cumin, and chili powder. Cook 2 mins, stirring. Remove from heat. Stir in 2 tbsp salsa mix.
  3. Add lettuce to remaining salsa mix, toss to coat. Divide lettuce between 2 plates. Top w/ turkey mix. Sprinkle w/ cheese.
