This is a different flavor than what I am used to and I was hesitant to try it. But the sauce I found to be really delicious.. The spices, cloves, cumin and hungarian paprika along with the brown sugar, added a great taste to the tomato and chile mixture. Give it a try, I hope you enjoy it. Photo to follow later today. :)

Ingredients

  • 2 tablespoons dark brown sugar
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon cumin
  • 1/4 teaspoon hungarian paprika
  • 1/8 teaspoon ground cloves
  • 1 can tomatoes with green chiles
  • 1 1/4 pounds ground turkey
  • 2 slices bread
  • 1 - egg
  • 1 tablespoon chili powder
  • 1 tablespoon parsley
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 2 tablespoons flour

How To Make savory barbecue turkey meatballs.

  • Step 1
    Place the first six ingredients in a bowl, blend well and set aside.
  • Step 2
    Add the chili powder and parsley to the turkey. Tear the bread up into small pieces. Mix the bread into the turkey mixture. Add salt and pepper to taste. t p
  • Step 3
    Beat the egg, and add to the turkey and mix together. Add 1/4 cup of milk to the mixture. And blend together. Add two tablespoons to the mix to help it bind.
  • Step 4
    Add oil to a large frying pan, and heat or if you prefer, use cooking spray. Heat oven to 350.
  • Step 5
    Shape the meatballs depending on what size you prefer. Add them to the frying pan, and brown on all sides. I then let them bake for an additional 20 minutes.
  • Step 6
    Take them out of the oven, and add the sauce mixture onto the meatballs. Bring to a simmer, reduce heat and simmer for six minutes or so.
  • Step 7
    Serve the meatballs alongside mashed potatoes.
