sausage and cabbage stir fry

I am trying to cook healthier (you can't tell by all the desserts I have posted). I came up with this one night and we loved it. We have made it several times now. A quick, one-dish meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 - head of cabbage sliced
  • 1 package butterball turkey smoked sausage
  • 3 - green onions, chopped
  • 1/2 cup low sodium vegetable broth (or chicken)
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil

How To Make sausage and cabbage stir fry

  • Step 1
    Heat oil and add cabbage. Stir fry for several minutes until it starts to soften up. Add vegetable broth, as you need it, to steam the cabbage a bit.
  • Step 2
    Add the sliced sausage and green onion. Stir fry and add more broth, as needed.
  • Step 3
    Add a pinch of salt and some cracked black pepper. Let steam for a bit with a lid on.
  • Step 4
    Serve it up.
